What is HR1? HR1 is typically the title of the “flagship” legislation promoted by the political party currently in power in the U.S. House of Representatives at the beginning of each two-year election cycle. This year is no different. Contained in HR1 are the following provisions:
- Makes illegal any law in any State that requires Identification in order to vote
- Require states to restore the ability of felons to vote the moment they are out of prison regardless of uncompleted parole, probation, or restitution requirements.
- Other terms here
The Heritage Foundation, a self-proclaimed and often quoted Libertarian think-tank, offers this summary of HR1.
